about

Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation often described as psychic, or enlightened, sleep. The idea is that the body sleeps while the mind remains aware and focused on the present moment offering the practitioner exceptional levels of relaxation and rejuvenation.

While it is understandable that practitioners will sometimes fall asleep during the practice, the goal is to remain aware. If you are practicing at the end of your day or just decide that you're going to take a nap, it is advised that you are intentional about your decision to sleep and turn the meditation off first. Please try not to develop the habit of falling asleep while listening to the meditation.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and being interested in healing yourself.

"The final gateway into the heart is entered by conscious attunement to the breath. On a physiological level, the respiratory system is the shortest pathway into the heart. Each inhalation reoxygenates the blood, which is immediately routed to the heart for systematic distribution. The breath is a bridge not only into the heart but between the mind and the body [and between the body and the natural world].

It's interesting that one of the first physiological responses after entering natural environments is sighing, a sign that the linear mind is slowing down, the sympathetic tone is relaxed, and our awareness is on its way down from the intellect to the heart... When we come into contact with [the natural world] through the heart, the living vitality of the world reaches inside and touches a place deep within us. At that moment, there is a sigh, a gasp, a deepening of the breath as we feel connected to someone beyond ourselves.

As we learn to understand the meanings embedded within the forms we perceive by harmonizing our whole being with them, we establish a feeling connection... Through this perceptual reorientation, the intellect ... becomes restructured with the symbolic, pattern-based language of the natural world... This is the language we must remember." -Sajah Popham in Evolutionary Herbalism

It is my intention that this meditation will help practitioners build a stronger connection between themselves, Mother Earth and Source. To maximize the benefits of this meditation practice 40 days in a row. If you miss a day, don't beat yourself up, just start again and never give up. The benefits of meditation are cumulative. More practice = more authenticity

Three years later she is para Yoga Nidra certified and grateful to share this art with YOU, today. Enjoy! ... more
